In its first day back after the July 10th rest day, the peloton was faced with the Hors-Categorie Colombier on its way from Macon to Bellegarde-sur-Valserine. Here the yellow-jersey group grinds up the hill as Thomas Voeckler rides ahead to his eventual victory over Jens Voigt and Michele Scarponi.
